The dot SE country-specific top-level domain extension was launched in 1986 and delegated to Sweden. During the first years after its introduction, the registration procedure was very restrictive, so a very limited number of domain names were reserved. Persons could buy solely one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was required, i.e. merely Swedish individuals, business entities and organizations were able to order a .SE domain.
